Toy Car Animated Scene - Fall 2023
This was one of my first big projects at USC! I modeled and textured my taxi car it in Maya, and then rigged its wheels and a steering wheel with the expression editors in Maya. Instead of texturing my model in Substance Painter like I typically do, I learned to instead create custom textures on a UV map.
Outside of my car, I used my modeling and UV mapping/texturing skills to also create my own duck plushie prop! Each of my classmates made their own props, which combined made a full scene of props.
Lost in Japan (group project) - May 2023
In this project, we chose to create a short 3D animated scene surrounding a chase scene set in a Japanese-style festival. As a group member, I helped to model & texture buildings/props, animate clips, and even perform Mocap actions!
I will say, the end result of this project definitely isn't something I'm proud of (hence why i haven't presented it as its own portfolio item). It looks pretty sloppy, and I know we could have done a better job. However, I think I made some valuable assets coming out of it and really expanded my knowledge of 3d modeling & animation overall. See the final project below!
